Article date: 2018-06-29.

Group BTOB (Seo Eunkwang, Lee Minhyuk, Lee Changsub, Im Hyunsik, Peniel, Jung Ilhoon, Yook Sungjae) revealed that they can feel the sense of responsibility as the oldest group in Cube Entertainment.

Officially debuted in March 2012 with their first single ‘Insane’, BTOB who has entered their 7 years since debut, has been appreciated not just as a team with the capability of making their own high-quality music that can be trusted but also their outstanding performance and solid teamwork in the current music industry.

Without being in a hurry and walking step by step, after their constant growth and years of continuance, they have become a team that created their own steppingstone. During their early days in 2013 and 2014, they released dance songs that match with strong vibes and showed powerful performance such as “Thriller” and “Beep Beep”, but it’s a fact that they couldn’t get the spotlight as much as they received now.

However, starting from getting 1st place in the music chart for the first time with the title song “It’s Okay” from their first full album in June 2015, they established themselves as a team who received love from the public by releasing 3 consecutive ballads including “Way Back Home” and “Remember That”. While “Remember That” is the song that gave BTOB their first public music broadcast trophy in 4 years and 1 month since debut.

Not just that, through the members’ active participation in writing lyrics, composing, and producing, it made BTOB’s emotions get deeper and diverse even more, and it made them grab the title of a team that stands out for combining their musicality and digital power among renowned musicians.

Not just their title song “I’ll Be Your Man” from their 9th mini album “NEW MEN” which released in November 2016, but also the title song “MOVIE” from their 10th mini album “Feel’eM” in March 2017, the title song “Missing You” from their 2nd full album “Brother Act” in October 2017, until title song “Only One For Me” from their 11th mini album which was released on the 18th, all the new songs that BTOB released are self-composed songs that were made by members’ own hands which become a hit and swept the 1st place on music charts. It is said that they are stand out among Cube artists for their activities.

During the interview with Newsen on the 28th, when Seo Eunkwang was asked about how they became a senior and a team who leads Cube Entertainment, he said “our heart is still the same as when we just debuted. It feels awkward, but somehow I think that we also have to feel the sense of responsibility”.

He also added, “I can feel that we naturally become mature. The situation made us think that as a senior and pillar of Cube, we have to do our best”.

In the first half of 2018, not just BTOB, but Cube artists like Pentagon and (G)I-DLE are also showing their remarkable growth. When we asked him “what do you think as their senior?” he answered with unusual affection towards his junior, “First of all, I’m very happy. It’s not something to think about, but I think it’s really something to celebrate”.

He added, “Both teams are producing their own work, and I know how they have much greed towards music after talking with them. Since they are really hard-working people, I think it’s the right thing if they could receive so much love. I hope that in the future, they won’t change and continue to do what they’re doing now. I hope they have fighting spirits. Please make sure to tell them that I love them”.

Im Hyunsik said, “We are also an artist before we become their senior, so from an artist point of view, they are very cool, beautiful, and doing well. That’s why, even though we are their senior, there are many things we can learn from them. As we are both artist, I think we are growing by learning from each other.”
